Kimberley produces bananas hit the market after a decade of being grown and raised in Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Kimberley’s first banana, the original Red Delicious, sold at the time for $100 per piece.

It is produced on the same land as the world’s best banana varieties, and is now being developed in Japan.

At his farm in Northamptonshire, the product can be found for about half the price of a traditional bun grown in California.

There is no demand for Red Delicious, but Mr Kimberley’s own recipe, which includes the traditional root with all the usual banana flavours – sweet, tangy and bitter – is the most popular.

The product has sold on to major supermarkets such as Co-op, Morrisons and Coles, and is now available in Japan and Germany.

“It is available in a large range of foreign countries and I’ve sold some very, very popular fruit in Germany at the moment,” he says.

“I think it’s going to become a very popular product, it may sell well here too in the short-term as well. The best banana in the world is also a good price.”

As well as being a great price, Red Delicious has been a popular subject for the foodies for more than 20 years.

“I’ve come to think of it as a modern version of an old Dutch treat,” says Michael Kranzler of the New York Times.

“At the same time, the whole commercial aspect of it, of making it at home, has taken over.

“We have this new generation of parents who are trying to eat healthier.”

And not everyone is a fan.

“There’s definitely not an appetite for eating fruit, as there was with the old Dutch treat or the old British dessert,” says Mr Raffl.

“It’s kind of all about taste. Red Delicious has to be hard to pronounce.”

There are also those, like Mr Kranzler and Mr Raffl, who argue that the Red Delicious is as tasty as it is cheap, particularly 구미출장샵compared with some of the many more expensive alternatives.
